Action Plans

2022-2023

Provincial level

  • Annually
    • Request for funding from the Mental Health Division.
    • Subsidize local committees to support them and visit them as needed.
    • Board meeting, Annual General Meeting and if necessary executive meeting.
    • Invite activity center directors involved with committees to the annual meeting. All other directors are welcome at their own expense.
    • Ensure that local committees follow their mandate and guidelines. Some committees can be checked if necessary.
    • To be consulted and/or involved in some decisions and government changes regarding Mental Health recipients (Example: Provincial Advisory Committee, Common Front for Social Justice, etc.)
    • Encourage partnership with other mental health organizations to promote the Network. (Example: A.C.S.M., Activity center etc.)
    • Represent  the Network on various committees or panels concerning Mental Health consumers.
    • Keep our member list up-to-date.
    • Support our representatives in their tasks.
    • Emphasize to keeping at least one committee per region.
    • Recovery Fund Program for individuals
    • Keep the website up-to-date.
  • Priority over the next 3 years
    • Continue to educate the youth and adult population on various topics related to mental health. On the other hand, we plan to focus on anxiety, depression and stress.
    • Given to the legalization of marijuana, collaborate with an organization or the Ministry of Health to educate youth and the general public about the moderation and dangers of marijuana and other substance abuse whether it is alcohol or drugs.
    • Keep our visibility at the provincial level.  By continuing to work with the Ministry and other committees/organizations, distributing pamphlets, newspapers, any other opportunity that gives us visibility.

    • Prioritize awareness and education of provincially selected topics where possible.
    • October 10th each year, a to-date activity and financial report for the fiscal year so far.   On April 10 of each year, a full activity and financial report for the year.

2021-2022

  • Long term ( 5 years)
    • Given the rise of youth ages 10-24 being hospitalized and visits to the emergency room for mental health issues, it is important to find a way to raise their awareness on subjects of mental health. We plan to put emphasis on anxiety, stress and the nefarious effects of drugs and alcohol.
    • Continued to educate the general population on keeping a good health and ways to achieve it.
    • Recovery Fund Program for groups.
    • Continue to work with the Ministry and other committees/organizations and so keep a good understanding with various government interveners and organisms.
    • Distribute various promotional items and pamphlets across the province et so increase our visibility.
    • All other objectives that could present themselves and that will be judged important by the executive and/or the Board of Directors.

    • Given the legalization of marijuana from here to the end of 2018; raise awareness on moderation and the dangers of substance abuse, whether it be alcohol or drugs.

    • Put priority on the education and  raising awareness in accordance with the topics chosen at the provincial level when possible.

  • Affordable housing for people leaving with mental illness.

  • Transportation (Rural and Urban Transportation Advisory Committee) and continue the work on the transportation project (region 4).
